About 6~8 years ago I was a huge fan of using Prime lenses for my portraiture.  The creamy bokeh and sharpness of prime lenses made them a complete joy to use.  I never really gave up using primes , but recently the last 2 years the use of zoom lens in my photography has been a little more prolific while paired with complicated studio lighting.  Where before hand a shoot would be just me, 2 cameras, 2 lenses, and the model, the shoots now have become big productions with big studio lights and others.  I’ve absolutely adored the aesthetics of the last few years of pictures, but there is something a little more organic and accessible about images shot with just available lighting on location using a bare minimum amount of equipment and keeping it simple.

Last week Madison and I went to downtown Roswell, GA.  The idea for the shoot was basic outdoor editorial stuff.   Something you would see in a magazine ad for clothing or accessories.  We really didn’t plan more than just a whisper of an idea, but as always went with it.  Madison did her own clothing and makeup.

I want to give a big shout out to Roswell Provisions for giving the ok to let us take a few photos inside their beautiful venue.  We actually dropped in to get some AMAZING gelato, but I had to ask to take a few photos inside.  The owner/manager was extremely generous and said sure.  If you guys have a chance drop by there.  I did a batchelorette party 3 years ago there upstairs and it was so beautiful.

Without further ado here’s the gallery of Madison photos taken there, please click on the image itself for more information.
