Hair of the Dragon – Costume Party!

Trent Chau Photography-9506

Had an outstanding shoot this weekend at an event called Hair of the Dragon.  It’s a costume/dress up event social that mixed professional photographers, people and more and created a great atmosphere for photos.  I was really excited about it because it’s just amazing being surrounded by cosplayers and well truthfully I was part of this scene ages ago.

Our team setup a very simple 5 light setup with fog machines.  1 Main light using a 64″ Parabolic umbrella, 2 back light as kickers for the subjects with grids, and lastly 2 gelled background lights.  The setup was about 15 minutes and really simple, but the final results helped create some pretty cool studio results.  Also we did very quick headshot setup using a pop up old master background, a Norman ML600 with a 28″ Beauty dish, and a reflector.  The headshots were my favorite part of the whole shoot.

Here’s a few select photos from the night.
